Well - this is depressing as hell. Every time I hopefully thought: 'I could argue with that' or 'I could argue with this' - you went and covered it and I have to agree with every word you've written. We're doomed.

Having said that, I still retain a tiny sliver of optimism that, somehow, we can turn it all around. Unfortunately, I'm also aware that sliver of optimism might just be the necessary bit of light to keep me sane and won't actually produce anything constructive. Except for keeping me sane ...
