My partner, who died in 2012, had no catinga in the end, but he did have a 'scent' - it was a scent that only ever appeared when he was in the house. It wasn't actually on his person but it would be present when he was.

And it still appears now. And I know it's not just me - someone was here at Christmas who knew him well and in the front room - where my bay window is - there was his scent - and my visitor immediately identified it.
