Sounds wonderful! There's bound to be a bit of unsettledness changing from city to Scottish seaside but it sounds as if you've made a fab start!

I used to know that area quite well when I was married to a Scotsman. My best memories of Montrose are Arbroath smokies and pies (pronounced payz) - I believe there's a farmers' market there now. And, all along that coastline the pubs would have informal music/singing - people would just take along their own instruments and start up. It was amazing.
