The old pipe had been there as long as the old dishwasher — we’re talking decades. It had no intention of giving up without a fight. It took a dousing with WD40 and a 12-hour delay to get it to undo. I learnt something new (apart from ‘I’m not doing this again’) — the WD in WD40 stands for Water Displacement.
